Finest in the Nation!

I gave it the old digital try.  Hadn’t done art on a computer in a while, but I’ve had the time to give it a second chance.  I hand drew the ingredients and did colored it digitally.  I think last time I worked with coloring on a computer was high school computer art class (yeah, we had those in the 90s!).

I plan to have these on the lots at Mann and MPP, they will also be available online via Etsy.  They are 11×17 on 65 lb paper.  Each one is hand signed and limited to an edition of 50.

Scouring my external hard drive, I also came upon this gem. Not directly phish related, but I had done it for a flyer for the band Great Northeast from Harrisburg, Pa (my hometown).  It’s comprised of 150+ bluegrass instruments and was possibly the reason I stopped doing digital art for several years.  I also have this available through etsy, and will be selling some at a small festival a good deal of my hometown friends will be performing in.

I’m going to try out some other things digitally, but paper and pencil will probably my main instrument.   More sketches,  drawings, and in 2 weeks, illustrated setlists!  Follow me on twitter for updates! https://twitter.com/joseeen

Phish on Letterman: Illustrated Setlist

Phish on Letterman: Illustrated Setlist

An illustrated setlist of Phish’s performance on David Letterman tonight. I plan to do more, ideally for the whole summer tour. I’ll be making prints, as well as take requests for past shows to do on commission. Stay tuned on here and esty for new prints!

A page about art about a band.

Welcome!  My name’s Josean, and I’m a fan of Phish.  I’m also an artist and an educator.  But I really like Phish.  So much, that once tour dates are announced, whatever I’m working on gets pushed aside and the lot art begins.  I usually do block prints, drawings, paintings, and stickers (check them out at www.joseanrivera.com). But during tour they tend to be Phish related.  Some people love it, others don’t.  So I decided to create this blog.  I’m sure I’ll get less “Phish?Really” comments from followers on social media (@joseeen), not that it matters.  Phish is a big influence on my art, whether or not it shows in all my art.  This blog allows me to show and archive it exclusively  in one place, as well as give people a chance to buy art pertaining to a certain band they fancy.  Check out my Etsy for my art, Phish related or not.  The first couple posts will be reblogs from my other site, but I’ll be including new work, works in progress, as well as sketches from couch tour.  Follow me on twitters for updates!
