This show featured the Phish debut of Cathy’s Clown. Down with Disease was unfinished. The lyrics on Scent of a Mule were changed to reference Cathy’s Clown. Fee featured Trey on megaphone. During the soundcheck, Page teased the Star Trek theme before Home and Trey teased Tweezer Reprise before A Life Beyond The Dream.
Sleep was performed for the first time since August 17, 2011 (289 shows).

Reba did not have whistling. DWD was unfinished. The Final Hurrah was quoted in Wilson. Due to the combination of an extended delay to the start of the show from lightning and a curfew for the venue, setbreak was canceled.

This show featured the first Energy since August 4, 2013 (226 shows) and the Phish debut of Wider. Trey and Mike teased A Love Supreme in Beneath a Sea of Stars Part 1. Ghost contained an Under Pressure tease from Trey and a Weekapaug Groove jam with lyrics. Birds of a Feather featured The Birds samples from Page and Third Stone From the Sun teases from Trey.
Trey teased Plasma before Stash. David Bowie contained In Memory of Elizabeth Reed teases. Trey teased Dave’s Energy Guide in Chalk Dust Torture. Seven Below included a San-Ho-Zay tease from Trey and The Fish (Schindleria Praematurus) teases from Trey and Mike. Kung was performed over Saw It Again and included The Birds and Final Hurrah quotes.

Setlist art is back! With my choice of doing linocuts for my summer tour posters, plus lots of traveling and 8 Phish shows, I wasn’t able to make my setlist art in the timely fashion I’m used to (Usually live while streaming the show). I thought people wouldn’t notice, but I was wrong! While I did some here and there, I wanted to draw up new versions, as well as having to illustrate the GOTF songs. Now that I’m done with my linocuts (well, still need to work on the one for Dick’s), I’ll be posting up the setlists from this Summer Tour, in reverse chronological order. Prints will be available in my shop, as well as digital downloads that you can print yourself! Enjoy!

“..They call me the sloth
way down in the ghetto..”
The twelfth print in my Summer 2019 series. This print was created during the Alpine Valley run, and finished shortly after. I was inspired by the song The Sloth, and several Dürer woodcuts of St. Christopher. This was a fun block to carve, and the subject matter is reminiscent of a lot some of my older work. Dürer made several woodcuts of St Christopher throughout his life, which made deciding a bit harder. I ended up looking at 2 different ones. I based the background from a print he did in 1501, and added the venue on the far right. For the figure, I looked at an earlier print he did in 1495, which itself was modeled after traditional paintings of Bacchus.
Prints are 9×12 on 11×14 paper, and hand carved and printed. Black and white editions are printed on 140 lb watercolor paper, and the color variants are printed on 98 lb mixed media paper. Black and white are an edition of 30, and a ruby variant of 10. Due to the nature of the process each print may slightly differ in background color.
