For the Alpine Valley run, I decided to incorporate more organic features within the geometric shapes. The objects were inspired by things I learned about Noblesville, Indiana, and the Alpine Valley itself while researching. The imagery was inked and painted on several sheets of paper, scanned, and digitally arranged to create the final images.

Each stub measures 2.75×6.5 inches (The same size as PTBM tickets) and is printed on 130lb gloss paper (slightly thicker than actual stubs), printed by Fireball Printing in Philadelphia. Stubs are available as a complete set,single or two nights. Joseeen.etsy.com

My design for the Alpine Valley Run, inspired by the song Fuego. The original painting was watercolor and gouache paint. Tickets are based on PTBMs, and the barcode links to the setlist on Phish.net! Prints are 11×14, signed and numbered, and limited to an edition of 100.

Phish Alpine Valley Run 2019

Setlist art is back! With my choice of doing linocuts for my summer tour posters, plus lots of traveling and 8 Phish shows, I wasn’t able to make my setlist art in the timely fashion I’m used to (Usually live while streaming the show). I thought people wouldn’t notice, but I was wrong! While I did some here and there, I wanted to draw up new versions, as well as having to illustrate the GOTF songs. Now that I’m done with my linocuts (well, still need to work on the one for Dick’s), I’ll be posting up the setlists from this Summer Tour, in reverse chronological order. Prints will be available in my shop, as well as digital downloads that you can print yourself! Enjoy!

Prior to Contact, Trey mentioned meeting a couple in his hotel lobby the day before where the man said he would propose to his girlfriend if Mike sang Contact on Sunday night at Alpine Valley. Trey teased Bridal Chorus at the end of Contact.

Phish Summer 2019: Alpine Valley

“..They call me the sloth
way down in the ghetto..”

The twelfth print in my Summer 2019 series. This print was created during the Alpine Valley run, and finished shortly after. I was inspired by the song The Sloth, and several Dürer woodcuts of St. Christopher. This was a fun block to carve, and the subject matter is reminiscent of a lot some of my older work. Dürer made several woodcuts of St Christopher throughout his life, which made deciding a bit harder. I ended up looking at 2 different ones. I based the background from a print he did in 1501, and added the venue on the far right. For the figure, I looked at an earlier print he did in 1495, which itself was modeled after traditional paintings of Bacchus.
Prints are 9×12 on 11×14 paper, and hand carved and printed. Black and white editions are printed on 140 lb watercolor paper, and the color variants are printed on 98 lb mixed media paper. Black and white are an edition of 30, and a ruby variant of 10. Due to the nature of the process each print may slightly differ in background color.

The Very Long Fuse was quoted in Sanity.
