Pantoja Art Fundraiser

20180815_134059

When I’m not drawing Phish related things, I’m an elementary and middle school art teacher.  I want nothing but the best for my students (all 750 of them), and lately our budget has shrunk to almost nothing.  Sadly, as a teacher it is expected to raise funds for your classroom, since most school budgets won’t cover everything that’s needed to ensure successful learning.  While most of my coworkers opt for some great websites such as DonorsChoose, I decided to do things a little differently.  Almost all my art starts out as ink and watercolor illustrations that are then scanned and digitally arranged.  Some are randomly given away, but must are put in a portfolio where they are forgotten.  Rather than let them sit and collect dust, I came up with an idea to get them out of my house and help out my classroom!  I’ve reopened up my old shop,  www.phishart.com where my original artwork can now be purchased, with 50% of what I sell going directly to purchase art supplies for my classroom.  All orders will ship with extra original illustrations or prints, and a thank you drawing created by my students.  We appreciate your support in ensuring my students can have the proper supplies to create some awesome artwork!

Phish Fall Tour 2018 Series- Albany

The series continues! The 1st in my series of fall tour posters, This print was inspired by the poster for “The Colossus of New York” (1958), and lyrics from Waking Up Dead.  I was inspired by elements from the original US poster, as well as a UK Quad version.
The images were all hand drawn, inked (pens and brush) and painted with watercolor.  I then scanned them to create a digital painting that is true to the original poster.  The prints are 13×19 on card stock, signed and limited to an edition of 150. Available now in my shop

Phish Summer 2018 Series- Alpharetta, GA

The sixth print in my summer tour series.  For the Alpharetta shows I was inspired by the iconic poster for Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958) by Reynold Brown.  By the time I got to this print, I felt way more comfortable working in Brown’s style and decided to change things up a bit. Although I drew the background true to the original, I replaced the 50 ft Woman with a llama, mainly because I found it humorous.  The background was once of the most complicated to draw, with so much going on.  As always, the images are all drawn, inked and watercolored, then scanned and digitally arranged. Prints are 13×19 on cardstock, signed and limited to an edition of 150.  Prints are currently available for sale in my shop: www.joseeen.etsy.com , and will be available on lot before the shows.

Phish Summer 2018 series- Austin TX

The fifth print in my summer tour series.  For the Austin show I was inspired by the poster for The Giant Gila Monster (1959).  This was a simple one, basically a recreation of the original poster that I hand drew and colored.  I used lyrics from Shafty, since they were similar to the poster quote (“Only Hell could could breed such an enormous beast!”)  Prints are 13×19 on cardstock, signed and limited to an edition of 150.  Prints are currently available for sale in my shop: www.joseeen.etsy.com , and prints will be available on lot before the show.
