Phish Song Illustrations

Since the end of Fall tour, I’ve gone back to my initial concept of illustrating songs in ink and watercolor.  With less than 46 days til Phish plays again, I’m trying to do as many as I can.  I would eventually like to replace the images I use in my illustrated setlists with hand colored ones, hopefully by summer tour 2015.  In the meantime, I’ll be posting songs as I draw them here.  They are all for sale, and only 1 of each song will be painted. Ink and watercolor on 6×8 140lb paper.  I’ll take requests for specific songs, inquiries can be sent to me via direct message on twitter, instagram, or facebook.

Notes: Immediately following the San Francisco Giants winning game seven of the World Series, We Are the Champions was teased by the full band. Yarmouth also included a We Are the Champions tease from Trey.  Following a “let’s go Giants” chant after The Wedge, Page congratulated the Giants, adding that he watched the whole series. Trey told the crowd that Page was a Mets fan and that Page watches every Mets game streamed on his phone with many of them on the organ while the band’s playing. Page said  “we can’t be world champions all the time… or ever.” Trey then introduced The Line in honor of losers in sports. Disease was unfinished. Trey quoted All About That Bass in Contact.

8/31/2014 Phish at Dick’s Night 3

Dicks night 3 copy

A bittersweet end to a great run at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.  As sad as I am that I won’t have any shows to draw until Fall tour, although trying to make the setlists live with the time zone difference (I’m in Philly) was exhausting.  This does give me a chance to rework a lot of song sketches that I found weak or have been in heavy rotation during summer tour.  I am excited to play around with some new possible setups for the fall tour setlists.  I’ll also have some other stuff in the works setlist-wise, as well as some Gamehendge related things.  Stay tuned!

8/29/14 Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park Night 1

Phish is back this weekend for their annual Dick’s run.  They’ll be playing the next 3 nights at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.
Dicks1 copyIt felt good doing this again, even for just 3 days.  I am hoping though to change up the format for the setlists I’ll end up doing for fall tour.  I know I’ll be drawing new versions of songs, so you might see a few during this run.

Prints of 8/29/14 are available via etsy, and  25% of sales from the Dick’s run as well as the themed shows setlists (which will be released shortly) will benefit the Mockingbird Foundation.

Round Two!  Can you guess the songs/theme?
Dicks Show 2
No answer key is provided (yet), so you will have to use your Phish knowledge (although phish.net’s song histories are very helpful).  The only hint I’ll give is that each song has been played by Phish unless noted otherwise.  Each illustration will first appear through Phanart.net, and next day through this site.  We’ll reveal the setlists shortly, but we’d figured we’d give you a couple days to figure them out.

Prints will be available next week or so, with 25% of the proceeds benefiting The Mockingbird Foundation.

Dicks show 1It’s that time of year again!  Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado!  Of course everyone is talking about the gag they’ll do the first night.  This has been a tradition since 2011, starting with the “S” set (every song started with “s”).  2012 had their songs spelling out “F-ck your face”, and 2013’s show spelled out “Most shows spell something (in reverse).  As speculations run abound the interwebs, Pete from Phanart.net got a hold of me and we got to collaborating on some possible sets.  He gave me 4 possible scenarios, each based on a theme, which I then illustrated.  We will be releasing 1 each day leading up to Phish at Dicks.
