Phish Pittsburgh poster

I’m happy to present my  poster for Phish’s show in Pittsburgh at the Petersen Events Center during their 2017 Summer tour. 12×18 on thick glossy paper (#110 cover). This poster combines the venue with the iconic Duquesne Incline cable car which overlooks the Pittsburgh skyline. Original is ink and watercolor, and includes references to several songs, as well as several Pittsburgh sports teams. Limited to a signed and numbered edition of 100.

I included a lot of little references in the poster to Phish songs, as well as a few sports teams (see if you can spot them!) The posters are available in my Etsy Shop , as well as www.phishart.com.  I plan to bring a few to Pittsburgh with me, but the likelihood of a lot scene or shakedown is slim, since the venue is in the middle of the city. I will also have these at the Phan Art shows during the MSG run in the Hotel Pennsylvania (7/22 and 8/5, 12-6pm)

Phish Baker’s Dozen Poster

I’m excited to present my poster for Phish’s Baker’s Dozen Run in NYC this summer! Inspired by a vintage Easy Bake Oven box, the prints are 13×19 on heavy cardstock and are limited to a signed and numbered edition of 100.  Prints are available in my shop, and I will have some for sale at the July 22nd and August 5th PhanArt shows at Hotel Pennsylvania.5820ef626accd3adff4f2f79a7e2c131

My inspiration- a toy box from 1964.

When these shows were announced, I knew that creating a poster would be a challenge.  With a theme already established by the band,  I had to find something that fit in with theme while avoiding the obvious.  Ideas came and went, but eventually I came across a picture of a vintage Easy Bake Oven box and inspiration hit!  The original illustration is completely hand drawn, including all the lettering, which was then watercolored in a deconstructed manner and scanned in order to recreate the box.  I also went back to more detailed style that I hadn’t done in years!

I also ended up creating a poster for summer tour, which also appears in the Baker’s Dozen poster.  Any BD poster purchase will ship with one of these for free, and they are also available for purchase on their own.  The prints are 11×17 on cardstock, and limited to 100 prints.

Originally I was only creating one poster for tour, as well as setlist illustrations for all the shows, but that didn’t last long.  I just finished up a poster for the Pittsburgh show July 19th, and will be posting it shortly, so stay tuned!

Phish MSG NYE Run

What a run!  I was lucky enough to attend 12/28, a last minute decision (like every MSG show I’ve attended), courtesy of my wife! Although we were in section 304, the view and sound were amazing!

This show was webcast via LivePhish. Don’t Bogart That Joint was last played on October 31, 2010 (238 shows). Twist contained Low Rider tease. Piper fetaured Trey on Marimba Lumina and Mike on keys. The third set and encore featured James Casey on saxophone, Natalie Cressman on trombone, Jennifer Hartswick on trumpet, Jeff Tanski on keys, and Andres Forero on percussion with Natalie and Jennifer adding vocals to Petrichor and No Men In No Man’s Land. Petrichor through Suzy featured dancers on stage. During Petrichor the dancers had umbrellas and water marbles fell from above. Auld Lang Syne was accompanied by recorded cat and dog noises as cat and dog balloons and raindrop-shaped stress ball fell from the ceiling.

Grab all four setlists at a discounted price! Or grab a mini-poster set of the run.   I know wall space can be limited, so I’m offering mini posters (8.5×11) of the NYE Run. Even though they are half the size, there is no loss in detail, and this allows all the posters to be framed together, or displayed in document sized frames that will use up the space size of 2 regular posters!msg-run-2016

Dead and Company : 11/5/15 Philadelphia, Pa

I made these posters for the the Dead & Co. show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.  I live about a mile or so from the venue, so it seemed logical to make something for this event (and maybe score a ticket below face). Although I didn’t get a ticket, I was able to stream the show, and promptly headed back afterwards.  I still have some remaining prints, and have them available in my  shop.
