My design for the Merriweather shows. Merriweather holds a special place in my heart, I’ve actually seen the most shows there. It’s the place where I run into the most people I know, either from Philly, the Harrisburg area where I grew up, and even old friends from college! The art was inspired by these interactions with friends, some of who I haven’t seen in years, and some who are no longer with us. I chose to use robots, since they have been a theme in lots of my work in the past, including stickers I used to give out/put up at shows I attended. This was one of my toughest pieces since I had so much detail with the audience! The original painting was ink, watercolor, and gouache paint. Prints are 11×14, signed and numbered, and limited to an edition of 100. Tickets are based on PTBMs, and the barcode links to the setlist on Phish.net!
This show was webcast via Live Phish and featured the Phish debut of Halfway Home. Trey teased My Soul in Gumbo. Crosseyed and Painless was quoted and teased in Everything’s Right and quoted in Ruby Waves, Twist, and Wilson. Ruby Waves was unfinished. The Very Long Fuse was quoted in Sanity. Wilson included a quote of The Birds.
Prints are available in my shop! Choose from a single night, or both nights. Orders over $35 get free shipping, and I also have my linocut (low quantity alert!) from Merriweather available! www.joseeen.etsy.com
This show was webcast via Live Phish. Trey teased Streets of Cairo during Meat. Trey teased L.A. Woman during Tweezer. Trey teased San-Ho-Zay in No Men in No Man’s Land. Page teased In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida in Twist. Piper contained a Tweezer Reprise jam and quotes. Also Sprach Zarathustra included Martian Monster teases.
I recently had the time to do some much needed maintenance to my Shop, as well as to this site. I’ve streamlined my shop, and at the same time added more items. Through the power of scroll-down menus, I was able to add setlists from previous years. I’ve also changed up this site, including updating the setlist archives. It’s now easier to go to a specific show or tour with endless scrolling.
I have previous year setlists on sale, including deals if you purchase multiple show runs! I also have 2016 show posters available for all the summer tour shows. Sadly, I doubt I’ll be able to do show posters for all of Fall tour (it’s been a busy school year so far) but I might do a poster for all of tour, possibly a block print. I’ll of course be creating setlists for fall, and with them new song illustrations. I’m also opening up commissions for any show setlists for only $25! You tell me the show, I create the setlist with header art, at a very limited edition of 10. I can also do multiple shows for a discounted price. You can contact me below if interested, or hit me up on various forms of internet (FB, IG,Twitter links on the side menu). And as always, a dollar from every setlist sold is donated to Mockingbird Foundation as a thank you for allowing me to use their setlist notes for my setlist art!
Notes: This show was webcast via LivePhish. Simple included a Magilla tease. The first Big Black Furry Creature from Mars included an I Dream of Jeannie theme tease from Mike and a Your Pet Cat quote. Run Like an Antelope included a Call To The Post tease and the lyrics were changed to “Gaktoidler Esquandolas.” Piper included a Steam tease. Tweezer included Trey on megaphone. NO2 was last played August 12, 2010 (202 shows) and included a Martian Monster quote. During the intro to Sleeping Monkey, Trey said that backstage the band had read a website that ranked Phish songs and they were surprised that Page’s all-time favorite song was not on the top of the list, so they were going to play it for the crowd right now. Trey then said every night walking off during encore breaks Page asks to play it and Mike says “No Page, not tonight, tonight’s not your night, man.” Tweezer Reprise included a Sleeping Monkey quote from Fish.
Notes: This show was webcast via LivePhish. Sleeping Monkey was teased and quoted before the show and also quoted in the YEM vocal jam. Mike teased “Charge!” before the show as well. Nothing was played for the first time since June 7, 2012 (139 shows). DWD’s lyrics were changed to reference “Mike’s head.” DWD was also unfinished.
I recently made this setlist as a commissioned piece of the 6/11/11. It was made as a wedding present for a couple that had met at this show. I added some things into the header, including their initials and their likeness in the crowd. I can do any Phish show setlist, the first one you went to, the best one you went to, or in this case, the one where you met that special someone! Contact me via etsy, twitter, instagram, or facebook if there’s an illustrated setlist you’d like to own. And yes, I have done the Big Cypress setlist, it’s a bit ridiculous.
Notes: Daniel Saw The Stone was played for the first time since August 3, 2003 (137 shows). Reba did not contain the whistling ending. Antelope included an On Your Way Down tease from Trey. Chalk Dust included a BOAF tease.
These shows were especially fun for me, on account of being in attendance. I forgot my sketchpad, and initially freaked out, but realized this would allow me to fully enjoy the show. I brought it with me for the second night, and I’m glad I did. I had initially told myself that I would draw all new pictures for the songs, growing a bit tired of drawing the same ones. This kept me challenged, especially drawing so many variations of Tweezer! Prints are for sale via etsy.
